Tentative Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Amman & City Exploration

(Wednesday, October 15)

Our sacred journey begins as we land in Amman mid-morning. After a swift transfer to our hotel to unpack, shower, and refresh, we’ll plunge into Jordan’s vibrant capital—once ancient Rabbah of the Ammonites, a land linked to the tribes of Israel (Deuteronomy 3:11). Ascend the Amman Citadel, a hilltop steeped in history where King David’s Ammonite battles roared (2 Samuel 12:26-31)—here, the echoes of Uriah the Hittite’s tragic fate linger, a loyal soldier sent to his death in David’s scheme (2 Samuel 11:14-17). From this storied perch, soak in stunning views of the city’s biblical roots. Then, step into the Roman Amphitheater, a 2nd-century marvel from when Amman was Philadelphia, fusing Greco-Roman splendor with its Old Testament past.

Day 2: Northern Jordan and Visiting Refugee Ministries

(Thursday, October 16)

Start the morning by visiting a local center that holistically serves the Syrian refugee community. We will take time to learn about their different programs and pray for them. From there, we will venture north to the tranquil Jabbok River—where Jacob wrestled with God in a divine encounter that shaped a nation (Genesis 32:22-32). From there, we will take a short trip up to Jerash, one of the Decapolis cities Jesus’ ministry reached (Mark 5:20), with Roman arches, chariot-rutted streets, and an amphitheater whispering of New Testament times. Return to Amman for a time of worship at Grace Church, meeting with Iraqi refugees and having an opportunity to purchase items they have made to help them provide for their families.

Day 3: History & Culture in Amman & Beyond

(Friday, October 17)

Uncover Jordan’s sacred legacy at the Jordan Archaeological Museum, home to relics including fragments of the Dead Sea Scrolls—ancient texts that illuminate the Bible’s origins (discovered near Qumran, tied to Isaiah 40:3). Shift gears at the Tank Museum, showcasing machines of modern history, then journey to Madaba’s St. George’s Church. Marvel at its 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land, a vivid guide to biblical sites from Jerusalem to Jericho. Climb Mount Nebo, where Moses gazed upon the Promised Land he’d never enter (Deuteronomy 34:1-4), a soul-stirring vista of faith fulfilled. End with a lively souq spree, haggling for crafts in a land Abraham once crossed (Genesis 12:6). Overnight in Amman.

Day 4: The Dead Sea Experience

(Saturday, October 18)

Begin with a royal detour to the Royal Automobile Museum, admiring Jordan’s regal rides, then stand in awe at the Baptism Site—Bethany Beyond the Jordan—where John baptized Jesus (John 1:28), a cornerstone of Christian faith. Pause at Elijah’s Ascension site, where the prophet was swept to heaven in a chariot of fire (2 Kings 2:11), before plunging into the Dead Sea. Float in its salty embrace at Earth’s lowest point, a region tied to Sodom and Gomorrah’s destruction (Genesis 19:24-26). Slather on mineral-rich mud for a biblical spa twist! Overnight at a Dead Sea hotel.

Day 5: Exploring Petra

(Sunday, October 19)

Today, we conquer Petra, the rose-red city of the Nabataeans—descendants of Esau’s Edomite kin (Genesis 36:8-9). Trek the Siq’s narrow canyon to behold the Treasury’s glowing facade, a marvel carved into cliffs that once traded with biblical lands. Wander Royal Tombs and ancient streets, with optional donkey or camel rides evoking the caravans of old (Genesis 37:25). Rest deeply in Petra, surrounded by echoes of Edom’s rugged legacy.

Day 6: Wadi Rum & Aqaba

(Monday, October 20)

Buckle up for a wild Wadi Rum desert tour! Roam vast dunes and sandstone peaks where Moses may have led the Israelites during the Exodus (Exodus 17:6), sipping Bedouin tea under skies that stretch to eternity. Then, plunge into the Red Sea at Aqaba—ancient Ezion-Geber, where Solomon’s ships sailed for gold (1 Kings 9:26). Explore this coastal gem’s vibrant life, its waters a window to creation’s beauty (Psalm 104:25). Overnight in Aqaba.

Day 7: Fly to Egypt

(Tuesday, October 21)

Bid Jordan farewell with a flight from Aqaba or Amman to Cairo. More details of this day will be given once flights are booked and we know the departure and arrival timings. Land in Egypt—where Joseph rose to power (Genesis 41:41-46) and Moses confronted Pharaoh (Exodus 5:1)—and transfer to our hotel. Unwind amid Cairo’s electric hum, ready for the biblical wonders ahead. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 8: Ancient Egyptian Wonders

(Wednesday, October 22)

Stand in awe at the Grand Egyptian Museum, showcasing artifacts from Egypt’s pharaonic past—think treasures of Tutankhamun, a glimpse into the opulence Joseph knew (Genesis 45:22). Then, face the Giza Pyramids, built by a civilization that enslaved the Hebrews (Exodus 1:11), and view the beauty of the Great Sphinx. Optional camel rides add a biblical caravan vibe! Overnight in Cairo.

Day 9: Cairo’s Cultural Treasures

(Thursday, October 23)

Ascend the Saladin Citadel for sweeping views over Cairo, then step into Old Cairo. Explore Coptic churches that mark Christianity’s early roots in this land of exile. Haggle in the buzzing Khan el-Khalili Bazaar before a dreamy Nile River cruise—sailing the waters that cradled Moses’ basket (Exodus 2:3). Overnight in Cairo.

Day 10: Saqqara, Memphis & Dahshur

(Friday, October 24)

Journey to Saqqara’s Step Pyramid of Djoser, an ancient marvel from Egypt’s Old Kingdom, predating Israel’s captivity. Step into Memphis—biblical Noph (Isaiah 19:13)—once a capital of Pharaohs who defied God (Exodus 7:13), its ruins whispering of fallen glory. End at Dahshur, gazing at the Red and Bent Pyramids, quirky testaments to Egypt’s might. Return to Cairo to dine, rest, and pack for home.

Day 11: Departure from Cairo

(Saturday, October 25)

Our pilgrimage ends as we transfer early to Cairo’s airport for our flight to Washington Dulles. Soar home, hearts full of Jordan and Egypt’s Biblical tapestry—from Jacob’s wrestle to Jesus’ refuge—etched in memory forever.

* Itinerary is subject to change. The itinerary in Jordan is mostly set, there might be some slight changes to Egypt's itinerary, but for sure we will see the main sites such as the pyramids, sphinx, Nile River cruise, etc.
