Volunteer Highlight: Bamboo

A group of volunteers from St. John Lutheran Church got "bamboozled" into completing a helpful project for the GO Center! Volunteers Rick, Rich, Tom and Les worked tirelessly for hours to cut over 300 bamboo poles to be used at the GO Center. As part of the upcoming Global Adventure walkthrough experience, GPPD will recreate two different types of housing found in India and China.
These huts primarily use bamboo found indigenously in Asia. Locally, there are pockets of bamboo fields all over the Roanoke Valley, some larger than others. Thanks to these industrious volunteers, two fields have been diminished for the Kingdom's sake. All glory to God!
