2008 Golf Tournament Recap
On Saturday, July 26, 2008, Global Partners in Peace & Development held its second Annual Orphan Golf Tournament at Blue Hills Golf Club in Roanoke, Virginia. This year's tournament was filled to capacity with 36 teams that came out to play golf and support the Orphan Ministry at the same time.
The money raised for this year's tournament will go towards helping precious orphan boys in Siddipet, India. These 34 boys have been living in a rented home for the past few years. As we were preparing for this year’s tournament, we felt strongly that we should raise funds to build a permanent home for these boys. Little did we know, four months after this decision was made, the landlord would suddenly inform us that the boys could no longer live in his rented home. Immediately, we began working on a temporary shelter for them until we can build a permanent home. We are so excited to announce that the total amount of money we raised was $19,000!!
